Susanna Leonard Hill, is encouraging writers to practice their craft, while participating (playing) in a fun contest - her 7th Annual Halloweensie Contest.

Here is my entry of an unusual Halloween participant. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
HALLOWEEN FRIGHT (100 words)
Frog hid under the bench.
When a hollow orange shape appeared, Frog moved in.
A light clicked on, creating shadows and lulling Frog to sleep.
Suddenly, the light disappeared, and a DING-DONG jerked Frog awake.
“AAAHHH!” echoed from the pumpkin - and a small monster fled.
Again, no light and a loud DING-DONG.
“GRROOACK!” echoed from the pumpkin - and a Transformer fled.
When the light vanished again, “CRROOAAK!” echoed from the pumpkin.
“Oh Froggie,” cooed a small scientist, “are you hungry?”
She dropped candy corn into the pumpkin.
Frog licked the corn . . . BLECH!
and fled.
